Hi Ralf, >> Have you read the Bob Katz book on mastering?

Always the contrarian, Ralf! :-) I believe the technical aspects of mastering that Katz covers would apply to any genre of music. I've learned lessons from it that I've applied directly to using Jamin on rock and acoustic music. I've never met Bob personally and I don't own any of his Grammy-winners, but I do respect the opinion of Hugh Robjohns at Sound on Sound: http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/oct03/articles/bobkatz.htm Cheers!
