Yes, a good idea, I didn't think about this, but in his case see 
http://www.64studio.com/node/1289 the reason seems to be a broken system.

I still suggest to take a look at /var/log/syslog.0 and 
/var/log/messages.0, dunno were exactly relevant data might be, but I 
guess there might be information about a reason for a reset.

For the future Fred, you should backup your 64 Studio from time to time, 
when making extreme interventions.

I hope you can fix it. If the reboot happens when using Ardour, than an 
downgrade for Ardour might be something that should be tested.
