Hi Ralf,

No, but I did cover taking material from a (non-CSS) DVD and converting
it to H.264 format for the Web, using Avidemux and x264. I've never
found DVD authoring to be straightforward, but then it's not a job I do
every day. I will have to check out 2ManDVD, the successor to ManDVD:

Compared to Cinelerra that's true, but OME is the only video editor I
know of with JACK transport support, so the coverage of OME in the book
followed on from the earlier chapters on audio recording and mixing.

Seq24 was chosen to introduce MIDI concepts because there's already a
book dedicated to Rosegarden, and also because Seq24 is available for
Windows. One of the aims of the book is to show how many of the
applications are cross-platform, to reach those readers who aren't ready
to install GNU/Linux at first.

Cheers!

Daniel
