Until now Windows VST(i)s and Linux VST(i)s aren't fine for my 64
Studio, but VST(i)s are able to use the tempo information of a sequencer
to sync delays, speed of virtual synth features etc., I dunno if this
works for Linux, but it's normal for other OSs. To sync a delay by ms is
very useless if the tempo of a song does change, to have a virtual ARP
with step sequencer that can't be synced is also useless etc.. I'm using
Linux only again, but for professional full MIDI work and film sync
Linux is a toy, useless for professional work. We have to decide what we
need. I decided that Linux is fine for my home studio, excepted of MIDI
jitter, I'm still working on solving this.

Btw. I'll compile and or install some applications by packages, Phasex
will be one of them :). I started with latest version of QjackCtl, a
mail because of this is already written :(, but I'll send it later, when
I tried to compile other applications.

Sync for Linux audio still is bad supported, but e.g. for SMPTE and HD
recording this could change in the near future. Fons seems to have a
SMPTE/ JACK transport application and Ardour seems to be able to do
re-sampling for tempo variations, but until now only in low sound
quality. Audio applications that can't do re-sampling to fit to tempo
variations can't be synced by SMPTE.

If sync is an important issue for your needs, Linux might be a less good
choice.
