Hi!

It's getting real hot in here...
Like Dave, I'm also of two minds about this topic and I was quiet a long
time. On one hand some people seem to be interested about Ralfs
postings, on the other hand I can remember that there have been at least
three or four arguments about them since he subscribed.

The fact is: Since the 24. February 2009 there have been over 1100 posts
and 540 are Ralfs. I remember times when it was less monocultural on
this list. I can not prove it, but it feels to me, that some people quit
being an active user of this list because of these facts.

Now it seems that some people do want to get rid of him. Is it fair? I
don't know. Shall we kick out an interested member of the community,
which Ralf doubtlessly is? I don't feel good about this.

Maybe I've got a solution for our situation: If I understand it right,
people (partly) are upset about how Ralf uses this list. He writes
_novels_ about problems he found(/created) and how he tried to solve it.
Most of us agree that this is not the right shape for a mailing list. (I
do not totally agree, calling it "FUD" or "spam", although I often
thought "stop spamming my mailbox!") But it was the right shape for
something like a blog.

Now, is it possible to open a blog for Ralf on 64studio? I would totally
agree putting a fat link on the top page of 64studio to "Ralf's blog".
This would ease this situation we're in. Imagine Ralf's not writing any
novels about f***ed up linux-boxes on the list, although he stays part
of the community and gets feedback from the people (on the users-list
f.e.) which like to read it.

Peace!

Mitsch
