I have landlines in both my office and my home.

To carry my DSL (though you don't need one anymore, you did when I 
ordered DSL).

For 911 access (yes, I've known this for some time).

For faxing (even Vonage with their special fax line using a fax-friendly 
codec) since I've found it impossible to call from a VoIP line to an 
electronic fax such as e-Fax.

Others' opinions may vary, but I'd never do without landline 911.

(Except that the one time I called 911 in San Bernardino, they never 
responded anyway.)
