Time to butt in... If this didn't send any information back to Google I'd probably install it; I love Google on the 'net and I'd probably love it on the desktop. Yes, I know how to use find/locate/grep/etc. But google is easier. However the lack of privacy is a big issue for me. (I know I don't have it either when I use google on the 'net, but that's harder to avoid.)
