Janet, the answer is simple. For one, XP Home is much less expensive 
than the Pro edition.  Plus, most people buying it are going to be home 
consumers, not from the corporate world.  Most buisnesses have contracts 
with the Dell's of the world to furnish their systems.  I don't know how 
it works across the pond in the UK but that's the way it works here in 
the States.
