The scandisk command is replaced by the CHKDSK command in Windows
NT/2000/XP.
You can run it from either the GUI or the command line:
Start > Run... > cmd > "chkdsk c: /f"
You will need to reboot to run CHKDSK.
You should run CHKDSK about once every 4 months.
