You won't have access via the modem. Since hardware connectivity is abstracted in a networking system this won't make a difference because your networking it likely broken at a higher layer. It's not a file related problem either so SFC won't fix this. You need to fix the Winsock layering provider keys. You can easiy do this by running WinSockFix from Option^Explicit. http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Network-Tweak/WinSockFix.shtml This will reset the networking keys and get you back online. Now the last error message you can get rid by using MSCONFIG or deleting the keys manually. To use MSCONFIG, just copy it from a Windows XP computer. (in C:\WINDOWS\PCHEALTH\HELPCTR\Binaries) Go into the Startup tab and uncheck the entry for C:\WINNT\system32.exe.
