That may work for transferring your word files and large documents like movies, etc. But it won't do anything for your software programs installed. You'll need to re-install all your programs from their original CD's.
if your current computer has a CD burner, you might as well burn all your files and save yourself a couple of bucks, besides you should have been backing up your computer anyway.
