I think another aspect to this is that those who are still not able to access 
broadband or cable and who have limited inboxes may not appreciate a one line 
message from everyone who has received a tip that had been passed on to them 
"thanks that worked", or something similar.  
I don't think it necessarily implies discourtesy that there is no feedback, and 
it might serve to suggest we shouldn't accept it as such.  If we're looking at 
the positive, might we also want to consider the negative in that some people 
don't find that the suggestion they have received works, or are unable to deal 
with it that way, and are afraid to say so.  Cuts both ways I think.
