> Does anyone know if activation of XP has been discontinued? I seriously doubt that XP activation has been discontinued. A machine which already has XP installed generally doesn't require it. The setup you described may somehow have confused the process or hidden the notices. If you stay unactivated for the time lime you may find that versoin of XP won't work or will give you a special warning.
