parisiengarcon,

I have files that list most of the typical startup program and whether they
are needed.
I can't upload them to this group, but they are available at

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/My_Tech_Support/files/

I don't know whether you can get it without signing up for the grroup. There
is also a program that installs in the control panel that gives a bit better
listing of startup prograsm.

I just uncheck all but the ones I know are valid. Then if I notice any
misbehaviour I start rechecking. This rarely happens.
