  [:(] I understand that One Care can be a bitch to get rid off [:(]

  [>:)] If all the great solutions provided by Ivan don't work for you
try the following:

  [:D]   First create a restore point - Start --> All Programs -->
Accessories --> System Tools --> System Restore. S o you can undo
anything that may go wrong.

Start --> Run, type MSCONFIG and hit Enter.

Click on the Startup tab. Uncheck all the programs that seem to be
related to OneCare. Uncheck all virus, spyware
<http://www.askdavetaylor.com/how_do_i_remove_windows_onecare.html#>
and malware programs also. Save the changes.

Restart your computer
<http://www.askdavetaylor.com/how_do_i_remove_windows_onecare.html#> .

If the above steps did not resolve your problem, try the following:

Start --> Run, type SERVICES.MSC and hit Enter.

Stop and set to Manual or Disable all services you don't need. See
Services Guide for Windows XP
<http://www.theeldergeek.com/services_guide.htm>
<http://www.theeldergeek.com/services_guide.htm>   for a handy reference
on what you can and cannot disable here.

One more step: Start --> Run, type REGEDIT and hit Enter.

Then in Registry Editor click Edit --> Find and search for all words
related to OneCare, then delete all matching keys.

Now you can delete the OneCare files from your hard drive
<http://www.askdavetaylor.com/how_do_i_remove_windows_onecare.html#>
manually. Perhaps using the Search Facilty would be useful.

Don't forget to re-enable your Virus and Spyware utilities.

I am sorry if this looks complicated.

Paris
