Phyllis, > What are factory rescue disks?..--Phyllis Computer companies have for some years provided some way of restoring computers back to their factory fresh condition, at least as far as OS and original software are concerned. Newer machine may use instead of one of more disk, a special partition where an image of the hard drive is saved. You are encouraged to create your own recover disk(s) if the machine came with a burner. This fact makes it less scary to experiment with alternative operating systems and other things like cloning programs like Ghost. I also partition my comuters and keep my data files on partitions instead of on the C partition.
