I don't know if anyone can help me with this or not, but, I might as
well ask. I am trying to install a DVD-R as a second drive internally
into a computer that already has a CD-R. The original CD-R is set as
master. The DVD-R is set as slave. I have also tried switching the
jumpers but that didn't help. I am running Windows XP Home on a 3 Gig
Dell Optiplex 210L. The computer recognizes the DVD-R as well as the
original CD-R. However, the DVD-R does not read any media, CD or DVD.
It just says no disc in drive. This is a brand new DVD-R that I am
trying to install. I want to have a seperate drive exclusively for
DVD's. Does anyone have any idea why it won't read the media even
though the drive is recognized? Any help appreciated.
