I would say that more ram should help, and if you are satisfied with 2k no 
need to upgrade. There are also things that you can do so speed up your 
computer along with more ream. You can Google for 'slow computer' as well as 
look through the messages in Yahoo computer groups.

One of the things I always do is to remove unnecessary startup items which 
use resources. I assume that 2k has msconfig. Type that word in the run box, 
it will bring up a program with a startup tab. Click the tab and uncheck 
items that you don't really need. Don't worry if that causes any problem 
[unlikely] you can always go back and recheck an item. The items are not 
always easy to decide whether you need them. You can use Google for that too 
by typing "startups"
