Cat,
>> > How do i buy more memory? can i just go to compusa and buy it?
>> Or you can go to crucial.com.
> my tech guy holds me hostage-LOL-holds all my papers
I don't know what that means?
> I have to seriously look for exactly what I have
Or maybe you have to look for a new Tech Guy.
> Dunno why tech guy insists I have enough memory-even when I tell him
> message keeps coming up that I am low on Virtual memory
Virtual memory is actually part of your drive. The way the computer works
is that when available memory is low the virtual memory, i.e. drive space
set aside for the purpose, is used.
How much ram do you have. Most people see 512 Meg as the sweet spot for
ordinary computer users, and 1 Gigabyte is better.
> and My memory zipper thing keeps telling me I have low system memory
What is a memory zipper thing? Does it have a more official name?
You can find out how much ram you have by running system information.
Start, All Programs, Accessories, System, System Information. It shows much
of the important information about your computer, including the amount of
ram.
