OK, I thought you meant you backed up the whole drive.
But a USB drive can hold as much as most hard drives, unless you
are talking about those thumb drives which are one or two G.

Are you talking about the 'my documents' in Windows or is that
the name of your back up program.

Well I have many Gigabytes of backed up files, most of what I back up
are not brand new files, but I keep copies on all my computers, partly for
back up and partly so that each computer has access to them. Not really
as necessary with my USB external hard drive, but I am trying to pare down
my file collection by culling them.

But do you take the drive off the premises or put it into a safe?

In my case it would not so much be lost cash, just lost work in collecting
the files.
