You definitely need a virus protector because Windows version of any kind do not come with such protection, but the two you mention and that are always included on your computer by selling agreement between manufactures, are often found to hog your computer experience and slow you down.
McAfee is about the worst for adverse reports so that is probably why they seek such agreement to force a sale on you. You can't easily delete the McAfee so download this removal tool to do it. http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe Go for Avast as suggested by Vy but do it before you go on the web much. -------Original Message------- From: Linda Magorno Date: 20/12/2007 02:24:49 To: [email protected] Subject: [A-1-Computer_Tech] McAfee and Norton Protection Just got a new Gateway notebook with Vista Home Premium. It has 3 months free McAfee. I have tried both Norton and McAfee in the past and they always seem to be such a bother. Does anyone have an opinion as to whether we really need to have these programs. Is the new Vista Premium have enough to keep our computers safe?
