I found one problem with AVG, and it was of my own making.
They give you an option to go online daily --
preferably in the middle of the night when the computer's
not in use -- to check for updates. Well, I put a check mark
on that
option and it proves to be a huge nuisance. When I turn on the
monitor to begin work in the morning. AVG already has a
window on the screen informing me they did the necessary
checking. After that, everything's slow loading. Worse
than when I had McAfee.

Unfortunately, the only option they give you is "daily."
I don't need that sort of hassle. I
can check online manually once a week (I already have a
reminder in place with Winalarm to do virus scans every
Friday and defrags every Sunday).. I'll just add that to the
virus scan reminder.
