Hi again Graham

Well glad you got in anyway. My router on first entry to the sight worked on
Admin as name and Admin and as password. Now that is high technology and
past my mental powers at my advance age despite years and years of
experience :-))

Mines a Netgear but Belkins are OK :-)0

Subject: [A-1-Computer_Tech] Re: Trouble gaining access to a Belkin Wireless
Network Access Point setup menu.

Hi Ian,

You are correct they are normally a single digit but this one is
correct.

This morning I decided to go to basics and read the manual (us
techies do not normally need to do this) and it clearly states in the
manual that in order to gain access to the set up page the properties
for the wireless adaptor need to be set up in particular way to gain
access to the set up menu. This I have now done and bingo, up popped
the set up menu (should have read the manual and not assumed it was
like others I have used in the past). Once setup and the IP address
adjusted to fall within the range of my normal network and the
adaptor reset to automatically select an IP for itself via the
Router, everything is now working perfectly.

Who said that you cannot teach old dog new tricks? It just goes to
Show that even the most experienced of us can still be caught out by
simple things and that it is very dangerous to make assumptions and
that we should always check the manuals thoroughly.

The beast in question is a Belkin F5D7130.

Many thanks for your thoughts on this topic anyway.
