What has happened is someone is 'spoofing' your email address and sending spam. There isn't much you can do except delete the 'bounced' emails. This happens to just about everyone eventually if you use the same email address for any length of time. Usually it happens for awhile and then quits as the malware sending the spoofs goes on to someone else's email address.
One way this can happen is if someone you know has a compromised (spyware infected) computer, the malware will use that computer to send out emails, using the spoofed email addresses. This is just one of the many reasons computer owners need to make sure they have no spyware on their computers. This is what my Gmail inbox looked like tonight. I'm showing the messages in spam because that's where I sent them but I don't know what to do about it. It looks like someone grabbed my gmail account and send messages to some of my address book. Is that what it looks like to you. I know I shouldn't write to the people who received these messages because that would maybe exacerbate the problem, but what should I do? God knows how many other such messages went out because the only way I know about it is that some of the addresses bounced. ------------------------------------ If you have any questions or problems with any aspect of this site, please feel free to contact me directly [EMAIL PROTECTED] Please do not post personal issues directly to the group.
