One of my faforite gripse about computer OSs is the error message that are as helpful as a rubber cane. I have one that shows up whenever my Dell XPS 720 boots to XP. It tells me that the OS has found hardware and do I want to install drivers. Every time I reinstall the OS I get this message on start up. I have no renegade hardware that I know of. There is an audio device listed in Device Manager, Yellowed question mark. But I have installed the drivers for the Creative Labs sound card. I really wish those error message would be more specific. If they can see the hardware they should be able to read the ID rom to explain what it is. Anyone got any ideas?
