Then why did you say I installed the driver and it did not worK. No
assumption on confused by the messages.

You must certainly know the old thing about the meaning of ASSUME. You
got it wrong again. I try never to assume. My sound works fine on the
Dell in question. I was only annoyed at having to shut down that
request that I install driver for some un-named piece of hardware, and
that problem is solved. I just told Windows not to annoy me with the
message any longer. :-)
