Sounds like a job for DOS! You can use redirection to send the output of
the DIR command to a text file which you can then import into Word.

Open a command prompt window by going to Start, Run, and type in command
and hit enter.

Now you're at the DOS prompt. You will now need to use the CD command to
change to the folder where your mp3s are kept. If you have more than one
mp3 folder you will have to change to each of them individually while
doing the following,.

When you are in the first mp3 folder issue the following command -

DIR > c:\pathname\filelist.txt

Change pathname to the path you want to save to, and filelist.txt to the
filename you want to collect the names in.

Note the single > in the above command, it redirects the output of the
DIR command into the text file and initially creates the file. If a
previous file existed with that filename it would get overwritten.

Now change into the next folder where you have mp3s and issue the
following command -

DIR >> c:\pathname\filelist.txt

Note the two >> which causes the redirected output to be appended to the
previously created file.

This creates a file with all of the output of the DIR command in it,
which includes the filenames, their sizes, etc...

There are command line switches which will influence what information
the DIR command outputs if you would like only the filenames collected
in the file. I'm booted into Ubuntu right now so I can't check the
switches for you, but maybe someone else can provide that info.

Here is a link to a page which has another method to do this from DOS
with a batch file, it's advantage is that it will inventory all of the
subfolders of the folder you run it on so you don't have to keep using CD.

Here is a link to a program which will do the grunt work for you and
provide a file listing.

PrintFolder 1.3 http://no-nonsense-software.com/freeware/

There is a link to the paid version of Print Folder as well, but the
freeware version should do what you want.
