There are two types of wireless (neither of which needs any special notebook just the Operating system needs to be windows 98 or newer). The first is set up to a wireless G router that is connected your dsl or cable line and then using a note book card you can "tap" your own internet line in the house from any where in the house. Also with the note book card you can go to Starbucks ( which is known as a hot spot) and tap there lines. The second is that you can buy the broadband access cards ( they also carry a usb version that does the same thing) from verizon or att which allows you to access there internet service from any where. Both of which you can set up on a desk top computer if you wanted more than one in the home.
