Actually typing in just yahoo to the address bar will bring up yahoo, because the developers of yahoo designed it so that any one looking for that search engine can get it no matter how skilled they are at the computer. For instance a 7 year old needing to look up info for school.
But for any oher address you are looking for has to be typed in full such as www.wired.com.
