A file with a .zip extension, a zipped file, is a compressed file. If
you are in XP or ME you can just click on the file and it will open up
to show you what is inside. That can be a single uncompressed file or
a group of files. I usually copy those files to another folder. You do
that by selecting one then doing a Control + A to highlight them all.
Then I generally drag them to the new folder that I have created. Of
course you can click individual files before doing that to see whether
theese/this file are/id anything you want. If you want to keep the
file(s) but don't need to keep the uncompressed files you can just
close the zip file and put it somewhere that you can easily find.

Oh, it's a single file, compressing files is a way to reduce the space
they take where stored, or to reduce the time taken to send them.
There have been many compression programs over the years. They were
especially important back when people only had low speed dial up and
small storage devices.

In this case if you click the origing zip file, then click on the file
that it opens to the program will probably run to install the drivers.
Unless the uncompressed file is not an .exe file. In this case you
will need to copy the file to somewhere that you can get to when you
are installing drivers for your USB drive.
