If you use a wireless router so that several computers can talk to the
internet but don't need cables, they you have to select WAP or one of
the other methods that come with the router software. I chose WAP
which some say is not very secure. But the only concern is who is
close to your system, driving through, doing what they call 'war
driving' a paraphrase of 'war dialing' from the movie War Games. In my
case there are no streets for people to drive by to look for open
wireless. I am in a little condo group and I have been here for years
with no security problems.
