OK guys. Since you've settled any problem I've had with Windows vs. Vista, let
me say this: I'll not be going to Linux no matter how good it is within I can
foresee the next year or so, AND ... my next real problem is: how do I record
music from my computer on to an MP3 player? I'm not ready to get started, first
I guess I need to know what equipment I need to do this.

Cindi,

There are those who have gone completely Linux, I am not one of them.
I can't even see going completely Mac, although it would be easier for
me than Linux. This in spite of the fact that one needs not buy
anything. You can set it up to dual boot and run it on an existing PC.
Of course OS X will now run Windows using one of the three programs
designed to do that. I am using Parallels myself. And I installed
Vista on my Mac Pro.

Linux is a bit trickier to get used to, although Ubuntu Linux seems
the easiest of the newer ones. And you can try most Linux versions now
using what they call a LIVE CD. Boot with it and it runs the Linux
version without installing it. If you want to you can eventually
choose to install. I have always done my Linux experimenting on my
'spare' PC. Well I did dual boot occasionally.
