Oh, that HDMI to VGA adapter you're using shouldn't cause any display 
probs.  It's basically just a pass through.

Maybe you have a defective cable, since the dim problem occurs on 
whichever monitor is using that particular cable.  Both of those cables 
in the pic look like standard VGA monitor cables.

So, you are using these monitors as dual monitors on the same PC?  If 
so, you've def gotta go into the geforce utilities and be sure both 
monitors are set to proper display settings.  You can change settings 
for each monitor individually.
Also, Win7 comes some neat options for dual monitor setups.  Press the 
Windows key plus the P key and an option window will popup.
