42mbps download 36mbps upload. Hi: I have not been following this thread too well so I may be off base. I've been with Verizon for about 6/8 years and every time I have a large download I get throttled. I tried to download Windows 8 a couple of months ago, a 2.8 GB download, and here is how it went.......The download started close to 300Mb with a total download time predicted of somewhere around 4 hours. After four hours the download speed was about 80Mb with a predicted time to completion of about 8 hours. By the time it reached 8 hours, the speed was down to 15Mb with a completion time of 12 hours predicted. The same thing had happened when I download Win7 Beta.....The download completed, 3.3GB, but the time was 22 hours. With the Win8 download I broke it off with a loss of 2 GB already done, and, went to a friend's place and used his DSL. Total time to completion was just over 3 hours. This issue was debated to death in a communication by cell data modem group for several weeks a while back with no useful conclusion. It was thought that maybe this is just the way the Cell providers have of keeping the usage under control. I Can't figure what it is. One can use his own judgement.
