Toshiba Satellite A105 S1014
2 memory slots original 1 512m DDR2 4200. 18 months ago I added 512 ddr2 5300.
I don't know what it read before but since adding it sys info shows 896m memory
fun starts
I received 2 1gb ddr2 6400s mem sticks, removed the 512 put in the 1gb power
light flashed but nothing happened, no boot so I reinstalled the 512 and
rebooted, all was good, still says 896 meg
OK I realized I had 2 matching 512 5300 so i put the matching set in, nothing,
light flashed a few times then off, no boot
real fun
I put 1 ddr2 4200 and 1 6400 in and it boots up but still says 896 for system
memory.
It seems it's gotta have that original 4200 installed to work. Does that seem
strange?
Best outcome would be 2x1gb better 2 matching speed and size 5300 right now I
have the 1 512 and 1 1gb.
