as I put in the follow up the 2 5300 512m or the 2x1gb 6400 wont boot, has 
to have that 4200 even if it's mixed.
as for the 384/896 I thought it would show 512/1024 unless there is a 
problem? It has been like that all along. I thought maybe there was an issue 
with the 4200, I guess not.
Oh well no $ for anything new. And I hate the thought any way. Would 
probably go used if I did "upgrade". I like my XP, learned to accept Vista, 
can't stand 7 so why bother with 8. I got a little mini, recently from a job 
I did, Windows 7, no CD, no s video...
