this is not true. a usrp2 can sample 100mhz from the air and it can transfer
about 30mhz across the GBE interface, which is roughly 1/3 of the whole
1800 band. take a look at the sample allocation of the GSM1800 band in
germany and you will see, that a USRP2 can capture all ARFCNs of one operator's
network.

also that does not include the fact that not all ARFCNs are used in a single
cell because they would interfere with neighbour cells and that not all ARFCNs
are used at the same time. This happened to me last time at a summer festival
which was in a remote location and overcrowded.
