This is surely an issue for the interpretation of the ABC/MIDI player, not for the standard (*laugh*) to define. Any chord naming standard within ABC (which I personally am resigned to never seeing exist, for reasons made abundantly clear by the range of this and previous discussions on here) should exist purely to define what are legal, unambiguous chord names and the full spelling of the chord they name, NOT how any player software, chord name to guitar chord box translator, auto-accompaniment generator, harmony generator or anything should play or voice them. I'm well aware that extensions past 7 often leave notes out, but that's a voicing issue, not a formally correct chord-spelling issue. *sigh*. I swore I wouldn't get involved in this discussion again. -- Mike Whitaker To subscribe/unsubscribe, point your browser to: http://www.tullochgorm.com/lists.html
