I meant in-line in the ABC itself, like this (acceptable to all currently
supported implementations, I think):

X:154
T:Zaplet Kolo
O:Yugoslavia
M:4/4
L:1/8
K:D
        a2 f2 g2 e2|f2 d2- dgfe|f2 d2- dgfe|fg a2- agfe|[M:2/4] f2 d2:|
K:G
[M:4/4] d2 B2 c2 A2|B2 G2- GcBA|B2 G2- GcBA|Bc d2- dcBA|[M:2/4] B2 G2:|

I think I'll find another example rather than rewrite that to have
the metre change taking up a line by itself. What I would have
preferred to write was the more compact, readable and orthogonal

X:154
T:Zaplet Kolo
O:Yugoslavia
M:none
L:1/8
K:none
[K:D] [M:4/4] a2 f2 g2 e2|f2 d2- dgfe|f2 d2- dgfe|fg a2- agfe|[M:2/4] f2 d2:|
[K:G] [M:4/4] d2 B2 c2 A2|B2 G2- GcBA|B2 G2- GcBA|Bc d2- dcBA|[M:2/4] B2 G2:|

but I was pretty sure no computer implementation would understand it.
