Having done this for 1000-odd tunes, I'd say if it's going to take years, so be it. Unless you have some truly amazing source of properly proofread ABC none of the rest of us know about, you are not going to get MIDIs that sound as good as any of the direct-from-keyboard ones out there if you blindly convert ABC without reviewing what you're producing.
