BTW, I found a way to do it, it's extremely easy, and I'm not going to bother proofreading the 2000+ abc files I have to convert.  Any problems with them will come out in the wash, and if they're fixable, I'll fix them then.  Have converted 250 so far - not many (if any) errors. 

Perhaps you should look into it - abc2midi.

Having done this for 1000-odd tunes, I'd say if it's going to take
years, so be it. Unless you have some truly amazing source of properly
proofread ABC none of the rest of us know about, you are not going to
get MIDIs that sound as good as any of the direct-from-keyboard ones
out there if you blindly convert ABC without reviewing what you're
producing.

What do you want these MIDIs for?
