Seems sensible to me, too.  This is encouraged by the  note
that bar lines between staves is mostly a keyboard thing. I
know I've seen it in orchestral scores, to  group  sets  of
instruments  visually.   But I don't think this is all that
common.  Brackets and braces are often the only  thing  you
see for grouping, and sometimes you see the final bar lines
extended.  For some reason, keyboard players seem to be the
main ones that insist on this visual aid.
