Seems sensible to me, too. This is encouraged by the note that bar lines between staves is mostly a keyboard thing. I know I've seen it in orchestral scores, to group sets of instruments visually. But I don't think this is all that common. Brackets and braces are often the only thing you see for grouping, and sometimes you see the final bar lines extended.
