>> I've read a number of discussions of this, in which the only conclusions seemed to be that nobody could find anyone who had ever received any money from these license fees. Most musicians know at least a few people who have written music, and you probably know many who have made recordings. Try asking them about it, and see if you can find anyone who has received any such royalties.
Presumably some of the big commercial recording stars receive some of this money. But when asked, they seem to also say that their income from this source is trivial. Most likely, performance license fees primarily go to supporting the agencies that collect the money. Has anyone here ever made any money from these license fees? If so, could you give us some idea of how much? << Not me personally, but I have a friend who is well known in recorder circles and I was discussing this with him. It was a casual conversation so I am not necessarily remembering the details right, but he was certainly complaining about the royalties received from performances. I remember that "pence" was mentioned rather than "pounds". Bernard Hill Braeburn Software To subscribe/unsubscribe, point your browser to: http://www.tullochgorm.com/lists.html
