Wouldn't that deviate the internal representation from the file format?
Or would you want to change the internal representation too? In that
case, you will have to change at least all importers and exporters too.
Unless I am mistaken and the pound symbol is already valid in the
internal representation too, in which case I will have to change
the Psion exporter.
