IIRC I've read in one of the gtk lists someone saying
that autoconf-2.50 had problems with lots of packages
which worked fine with autoconf-2.13.
Of course, I'm not suggesting that autoconf-2.50 isn't
working properly, just that there seems to be some
backward-compatility problems.
