I dealt with that same situation by making a symbolic link in /usr/lib: libgal.so.2 -> libgal.so.3.0.1 and then used: # rpm -Uvh --nodeps abisuite-gnome-0.7.12.i386.rpm (the --nodeps so it wouldn't complain about libgal).
