Marvin24 proposed the following answer:
the bootloader is closed source (proprietary) so we cannot change it.
kernel is open-source. a new bootloader is also in the works, so we'll
get dual-boot (better multi-boot) back sooner or later.
btw, it would be more convenient for us if you would use our irc channel
#ac100 on freenode.net to ask questions (if you have more).
