Michael, Thanks for your suggestion ... I'll try toggling the talk on/off settings to see what effect that has. Unfortunately, modifying the shortcut won't solve it as RAT is not initialized until you enter a venue, and is also initialized when you switch venues. I think the 960 has two PCI slots (one is taken up by the video board), so I may have to buy a sound card and bypass the onboard audio if I have a spare PCI slot.
