That's what I'm asking for. I think we need to be careful with the term non-empty; cells which exist but are "blank" shouldn't be skipped. However, I'm guessing you mean non-empty as in "actually exists in the tree right now".

Dominic seems to suggest that if there isn't a cell in the same column in the next row, we shouldn't skip rows. I personally disagree with this, but his argument is that a user might not realise there was data in other columns in the skipped rows. If we do want to support Dominic's request, we'd need to be able to navigate to the next "nearest" cell in a given direction; e.g. if navigating by row, the cell returned might not be in exactly the same column.
