Dear Mohammad: I think something serious needs to be done about considering VH in particular and PWD in general as consumers of various products/services --which is the topic of my Ph.D.
I think most or even all of product/service providers aren't aware of our status as consumers and are often made to believe as though they are doing a favour to us. For instance, none of the instruction manuels are in Braille, none that I know of, which can be a cost-effective value addition businesses can offer. Also, there're misconceptions surrounding our capabilities in utilizing these services. Air travel is a good example. Though someone with severe disability may need an escort, those with visual impairment are very independent and don't need escorts. Therefore, kindly tell CII to have certain clauses where the needs of VI's and PWD's can be taken on board.
